The Perfect Mountain Town: Utah’s Marvel!

Mohit Gupta

Whether it’s a power packed week on LA’s sunny beaches, or a high-rolling weekend in Las Vegas, we all need some down time. What better way to catch up on some rest and fun, than in Park City? Deemed the ‘perfect mountain town’, the little getaway is buzzing with heritage, artistic vibes and an imbibing love for the outdoors; the kind that feed your soul!

Deep dive into excellent fine-dining outlets after working up an appetite with recreational sports; after all, the sports that once were part of the Olympics still offer good opportunity for winter and summer sports; choose your season based on whether you enjoy skiing and snowboarding or some hiking, biking and fishing!

PS: If my luck would allow it, I’d be there for each season!

My first pick for a meal would be the High West Distillery; nothing sounds better than good food and craft whiskeys. The mountain towns are usually famous for their locally crafted whiskeys, and nothing sounds better than a nightcap on a vacation!

Well-groomed powder slopes with almost 400 trails across 10, 000 acres, skiing is going to be a delight at Park City. Quality of sport determines your quality of life; and Utah’s ski-town will soon be the best way for me to find out (or you, if you reach there before me!).

Historic Main Street is arguably one of the only few places to catch the action of the town. In June, at a pre-decided date, a 1500 seat table is laid out on the street where enchanting live music, food from various sources and hundreds of new friends await you. An experience that I would definitely love to mark off my list! But apart from this, the street houses most of the fine-dining venues, some great shopping at hand and a leisurely walk to enjoy the town. While you stay and take in every aspect of this breath-taking town, I would recommend the Washington School House; exclusive, boutique, unexpected and everything nice!

With only twelve accommodations and a historic living space, the hotel offers the perfect hospitality of the town, fused together with historic architecture. Picture this: Historic property, roaring fireplaces, a modern-chic ski lounge, wine or whiskey and views of aspen trees around. Like the name suggests, and I truly believe too: old school is always the constant cool.

With a ski-lift just 5-minutes away and a heated pool on the premises, this is Switzerland in a nutshell. So next time you decide to take a trip into the high-stakes city, make sure to book a weekend to cool off at Park City, the “perfect mountain town”!
