Have you ever been lucky enough to experience unconditional love? If you keep thinking about your fellow human beings, then chances are that you have not been lucky enough to experience true unconditional love. You see the greatest quality that separates human beings from other animals is their ability to think, and the moment a man starts thinking there is no way to stop his expectations. Human beings always expect their love to be reciprocated, even if that means reciprocation through good behavior. When it comes to animals, however, they do not harbor any such hope. I am not saying this to glorify the fact that most times we can get away with being rude to a friendly animal but to emphasize the fact that animals have a much more beautiful heart than humans. Yes, take that from me. A pet lover.
The relationship shared by a pet and its master can be defined as a match made in heaven. Have you ever thought that you could communicate without the presence of an intelligible language? Chances are that even if you have thought about it you are sure that no such thing can come to pass. The reason is definitely the fact that when I used the word ‘communication’ you were thinking about communicating with another human being. Let me tell you, it’s possible. Not just through sign language or gestures or eye movements that humans have mastered over the centuries; non-verbal communication is also noticeable between a dog and its master when the pet needs a cuddle or when its hungry or even when it wants to go out for a walk, needs to be comforted, or knows exactly when you need to be comforted.
The communication carried out through bodily movements and eye contact between the animal and human can make people wonder – if they really think about it deeply – if there is really some divine mode of creating contact between two souls beyond language. The reader may wonder how I am able to point out such subtleties. Well, dear reader, the point is I have been blessed enough to have dogs as pets for many years. I can understand when they are hungry by the look in their eyes, I know when they want to go out for a walk by the way they wag their tail move restlessly about the room, I can even tell when they just want a quick bite from the sandwich I am having in front of them. And if they are really desperate for something, they won’t hesitate to ask you for it with their cute little paws!
If I have to point to the depth of their feelings, then this article would never end. So, let me tell you about how good it feels to just have someone waiting for you back home at the end of the day. Please don’t think that I am talking about your spouse! Why, I am speaking about the parrot you have back home or your pet cat that loves to snuggle with you on the bed. Have you ever tried gifting your cat with a cardboard box? You might think that this idea is weird but once you really try it out, you will realize that there can be hardly anything funnier. Cats love to make boxes their little spot of comfort; chances are you will see them trying to make themselves all comfy within the box no matter how small it is or how fluffy the feline is!
Be it birds or cats or dogs or even fish, pets make the world beautiful and that beauty reflects in the human soul. I don’t think I will be too wrong if I say that pets fill our world with unconditional love and that truly is paradise. It is the paradise I always long to be in. It does not matter whether you are down and depressed or angry, being close to your four-legged or winged or finned friend would always make the rest of your day bearable.
