Feeling Gratitude

April is here. Another quarter has flown by. We are still dealing with the pandemic and its far reaching impact. Economies are floundering. Several people have lost their jobs. These are dark and savage times. Governing bodies are at a loss as there is no knowledge about dealing with what the world is facing. The vaccination program is in full swing the world over. But nobody knows about the efficacy of the vaccine itself. The data is simply not there. It literally feels that the pharmaceutical industry is conducting a world wide live trial on the entire human population. The largest trial ever conducted perhaps. People are being coerced or somehow convinced into getting the shot.

There is also some talk of it becoming an endemic. All depressing thoughts that I am keen to banish from my sphere of thinking. And from my sphere of influence.

I am only keen to focus on all the good. And that brings me to this months theme – GRATITUDE.

At every point in life we all need to see the half full side of the glass and not the half empty. Probably hard to do for many of us at most points in life. Especially when it is all looking impossible. No job. Reducing bank balance. And bills that need paying. Life does throw some seemingly insurmountable challenges at times. But as my wife keeps reminding me that it all works out. And I keep affirming that it is all working out easily and beautifully for me. Quite honestly it is not as easy as it sounds. And there are times I feel the tears welling up, and the head feels like it is going to burst with all the myriad thoughts swimming around and I end up arguing with her. That does it really all work out? Why is it so hard? Why do I feel that I am being tested all the time. Then, almost miraculously, something does work out. And I am filled with gratitude and joy. With every baby step that I can take forward I profusely thank my angels for showing me the way.

For whatever reason, I am a firm believer in destiny. Whatever is meant to happen will happen. It is only our attitude that will see us through. Firmly brings into focus the attitude of gratitude. A subject that we want to explore this month in great detail.

I would also like to welcome Jessica Albuquerque who shall be sharing her views this month onwards. This brings a new and vibrant energy to our team and I look forward to sharing her musings over the next few months.

I have always wanted this magazine to be an opportunity for anyone to express their views, not just the literary geniuses. Just because some of us cannot weave the words well together does not mean that our opinion and views don’t mean anything. All the more we need to be heard. Otherwise at most times we get ignored and passed by. I for one am surely no literary genius. And at most times the words struggle to come out. But I surely want to be heard. Heard over all the cacophony and all the chaos.

I am grateful to the universal energy that I was able to put together this space. There is a lot that I am grateful for to the universal energy. We don’t need a lot to live this life. And I have been given much more than I actually need to live. But over the years the many challenges hurt my spirit and my zest for life. But as I review my life there is truly a lot to be grateful for. And despite how much damage humanity has done I am amazed at the many of us who tirelessly strive to make the world a better place. I am grateful to the human spirit that continues to work towards restoring nature’s order. These are the zealots who are my role models.

One of my endeavours that I am truly grateful for is the food forest that we are trying to create near Baramati in Maharashtra as a pilot project with the intention for others to follow. It is a long process as we are only relying on natural and organic processes. But we are firmly on track to make this dream a reality. I will only rest easy when we see the food forest become a reality. And more so when we see more people join us in making more and more food forests.

We should do everything we can to help protect and help each other. Life is just too short to be constantly living with fear and worry.

Let us all start the new financial year filled with joy, hope and gratitude.

Have a fantastic and joyful and extremely abundant year ahead. Our best wishes are always with you.

Wish you an abundance of love and joy.
