Childhood had been the happy dwelling ground for a large variety of our interests. Be it the fascination for weaving or the desire to try and learn to cook your favorite meals, we had a lot of time to spare on activities that interested us. Unfortunately, the advent of time takes away many things close to our hearts just as it gifts us with the necessities that keep us alive.
Adult life is filled with the obligation to carry out responsibilities. Once we grow up, we are expected to take care of ourselves, take care of our family and plan the entire trajectory of our lives for the next thirty or forty years so that we may never be crushed under the burden of fearful crises. All of these are surely important, there is no doubt about that. But in the process of emerging as a responsible and farsighted individual, we sometimes tend to leave our beloved hobbies far behind in the past.
No matter how busy we are in our daily lives, we should always find a way to go back to the simple pleasures of childhood. It would not only help us rejuvenate after a tiring day at work, but it would also help us connect with our past – a time we love so dearly yet abandon so readily. Love for hobbies has its own way of rewarding you. Who knows, maybe the renewed interest in baking as a hobby might lead you to become the entrepreneur of a new baking joint!
If you look close enough, you are sure to find thousands of opportunities that can help you work wonders with your hobby. What can be better than making some money out of your recreation? You can be mesmerized by the sheer amount of scope that your hobbies may harbor at present.
Maybe you have always loved painting. Though you were unable to pursue it as a profession, it is never too late to pick the brush back up again. Start painting your favorite landscapes or sketch those gorgeous portraits whenever you find some time. If you are afraid that you might be out of touch, try to get your paintings back in shape with tutorials available online. You will be ready in no time!
Speaking of online content, did you ever have the hobby of teaching? Of course, you ended up entering the completely different world of corporates, but there is a little part of you that still wants to teach. If that is the case, you can go back to teaching right away! But you are confused…. How are you going to get your students? Do not worry; you can become a teacher even before your students assemble in the class. Resort to YouTube! Decide the topic you want to teach, prepare a video on the same, edit it to perfection, create a YouTube channel and release your video. With a little consistency and perseverance, you are sure to have a big class of students!
There may be many amongst us who still try to scribble a few lines before bedtime. Yes, writing has been their only hobby for the last few decades, but they really could not go beyond writing those one or two liners at night. After all, there was hardly anything to motivate them to take their hobby a little more seriously! However, all of it has changed at present. Do you know that there are several self-publishing houses waiting for your manuscript! Just write, send them a copy, pay and wait for your work to get published.
Did you ever have a hobby of reading books in the past? If your answer is yes, then chances are that you can no longer find enough time to invest in your reading habits like before. You could not read as much when you realized that your daily means of subsistence will not be met by reading books alone. Inevitably, you had to give more time to your profession while the dust of the ages set on your books! But how about you start reading books to review them for the world? Blogs are pretty much in vogue at present, and besides writers the common people can also use them for such purposes. Your resume will definitely be enhanced further with this move.
You might have had photography as your hobby at one point of time. If that is the case, then you should go back to your hobby as soon as possible! Pick the camera back up and start clicking beautiful pictures. The advancement in technology helps us make our lives sublime. Now you can use your own photographs to create personalized calendars, wall papers and greeting cards! And you do not need to be a tech-guru to do any of that. Your beloved clicks being appreciated by the people is more than enough!
Your hobbies need a little more love to flourish and a little more care to flower, and once they start rolling there’s no stopping you from experiencing pure joy.
Go on. Explore. Do what your heart desires. Pick up the brush. Life is too short to keep waiting. Go on.
