A Love Story

Rhea Baweja

One doesn’t need colour to feel the palpable happiness.

Ravya and Kabir met in California, where both their families live.

The devil is in the details.

They quickly realised they were both from the same neighbourhood in the same city two generations ago.

Confetti in the hair equals celebration.

They wanted to travel back to India, travel the country and get married where their families once lived.

Companionship only makes it better.

The wedding was wildly unconventional — a eucalyptus altar, an heirloom dress and a reception in the tiny alleyways of Old Delhi.

Find the light in the darkness.

Ravya’s dress was constructed by her friends using parts of her grandmother’s sari. It all came together beautifully and everyone she loves was there in spirit.

With you, there’s no looking back.

Coconut waters were had, deep fried naans were indulged in and interesting shop vendors were met along the way.

Feeling safe in someone’s presence is the greatest joy.

Ravya and Kabir together were magic.

Life in technicolour.

What’s more human than pure, unadulterated joy?

Ravya couldn’t stop giggling at the fact that she was now someone’s wife, and Kabir couldn’t get his eyes off of her.
